Federal Direct Loans

Federal loan information for students and parents.

At Waynesburg University, we understand that education is an investment in your future. And, we know students and families make sacrifices to finance their education.  That is why we keep a meticulous eye on our cost, with tuition, room and board more than $10,000 below the national average for a private, non-profit four-year college.

The Financial Aid Office is a resource for all Waynesburg University students. We strive to assist students and families to understand their options in financing their education. We have a dedicated staff who is here to help students and families as they navigate the cost of college.

Below is information about Federal Direct Loans for students and parents.

Direct Loan MPN and Counseling

First-Time Direct Loan Borrowers Must Complete A Direct Loan MPN (Master Promissory Note)

If you have not previously received a Direct Loan, you MUST complete a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) at https://studentloans.gov. The MPN is the legal document through which you promise to repay your loans and any accrued interest and fees to the USDE. It also explains the terms and conditions of your student loan.

First-Time Loan Borrowers Must Complete Entrance Loan Counseling

If you are an undergraduate or graduate/professional student and have not previously received a Stafford or Direct Loan, you must complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling before you can receive a Direct Loan. Like the Direct Loan MPN, the Entrance Counseling should be completed at https://studentloans.gov.
